MINTEL and CECE signed a cooperation agreement

10 thousand trained, thousand international scholarships and access to content in the info centers are its main goals.

This morning, the Minister of Telecommunications and the Information Society, Vianna Maino, and the president of the Ecuadorian Chamber of Electronic Commerce (CECE), Leonardo Ottati, signed an Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement to promote electronic commerce and the digital economy in Ecuador.

As part of the Agreement, 10,000 entrepreneurs and MSMEs will be trained in electronic commerce and financial inclusion. Likewise, 1,000 scholarships will be awarded from Commerce Mind , an international platform specialized in the matter. The scholarships will be intended for those who already have prior knowledge and wish to become professional. During the event the first ten were delivered. 

Thanks to this agreement, the use of the country’s 886 Infocentros will also be promoted, since millions of its users will be trained in social networks for electronic commerce, with Facebook Educa, and in efficient practices of the Latin American Institute of Electronic Commerce.

Minister Maino highlighted that with the signing of this document, large companies will share their knowledge with those small entrepreneurs and that MINTEL and CECE will work together to simplify and adapt the country’s regulatory environment to increase access and use. to electronic payment methods.

“The document that we signed also includes a campaign of confidence in electronic commerce transactions. Thus, together, small and large businessmen we will reactivate the country. Rest assured that together we will achieve it, because technology changes and transforms our lives ”, he concluded.

For his part, Leonardo Ottati indicated that the signing of this agreement reveals the meeting between the government and private companies, to create a national and regional electronic commerce market. He mentioned that “it is time to declare Ecuador as a digital nation”, in reference to the transformation that the country is experiencing.

For Carlos Coba, CEO of siam El Reino de tu Mascota, who received one of the scholarships, this agreement is a sign of the Government’s commitment to support the entrepreneur.  “Today we are witnessing the meeting for electronic commerce. The words of President Guillermo Lasso and his work team translate into results that benefit us all ” , he said.

The event was attended by the Minister of Urban Development and Housing, Darío Herrera, who was an honorary witness of the signing.
