Ecommerce for exportation

The Prosperity Fund is the UK government’s cooperation fund whose main objective is to promote sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction in developing countries. In Brazil, the Prosperity Fund’s Trade Facilitation portfolio aims, among other projects, to support micro, small and medium-sized companies to export and to have a better performance in the international market, with a special focus on businesses led by women and other minority groups.

Commerce has been suffering the direct consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and e-commerce has been for many a survival measure, whether for maintaining the sale of their products or seeking new opportunities to increase their sales.

With that in mind, the Trade Facilitation Program, in partnership with eBay and the eCommerce Institute, will provide training in e-commerce for Brazilian small and medium-sized companies interested in starting or expanding their sales internationally. The participation of small and medium-sized companies led by women and people of African descent is strongly encouraged. The Prosperity Fund will subsidize part of the training, which will be carried out by the eCommerce Institute, an organization that supports the Digital Economy in different countries in Latin America with the objective of promoting initiatives that consolidate and boost the world of business on the Internet. On the other hand, eBay, one of the largest marketplaces in the world, in addition to supporting training, will exempt companies from the monthly cost of creating and maintaining stores on its platform for a period of 6 months.
